On Work Work ethics is something that I hold very dear. Having been on both the employee and management sides in my life, I have been exposed to those who have too much (yes its possible) and more often than not, WAY TOO little work ethic where their job was concerned. I guess you wonder why I even dedicate a page to this. I do so, because I was raised to believe that you give an honest day's work for a day's pay. I was taught that you give 125% each day no matter how you feel and that it will come back to your benefit. Look in society today and you will see, in the grocery store, the department store, the toll booth, the car wash, and all the other places you go, that good work ethics are basically down the drain. I can remember in my time, when you went out to eat and they spoke, welcomed you in, thanked you for coming and were basically pleasant. When you went out, you were basically happy when you left, thinking that they really cared. Now its, "Grab your money, Toss your food, Slam the window." or "What do you want?" when you walk up to a worker in a store. It will take an effort that no one person can accomplish to make today's retailers and companies realize that the customer is still in charge. Until everyone is willing to work as one to bring it back, we will watch as today's working society degrades even further. |
