2008 - Another Move and Back Up

I flew in January of 2008 and sometime before that began to experience some numbness in the sides of my legs. I attributed it to sitting on the jumpseat so much cause it kinda pressed on my nerves when I sat there. In February I went to see a chiropractor and he said I had some discs that were either ruptured or slipped. He sent me for an MRI. I was coming back from his office one day and went to step up onto the curb at my home and fell to the ground. I couldn't lift my leg properly to get onto the curb. I tried three times and then had to go back to the vehicle and call Sean. By that time a friend of his was living with us and she came home (she worked closer than he did) and helped me upstairs into the house. On February 19 I got up to go to the bathroom from bed and my legs went out from under me. Sean took me to the emergency room and they sent me home with steroids and pain medication. The next day it happened again and he took me back to the emergency room. This time they admitted me to the hospital. To make a long story short, I spent a good part of the rest of 2008 in and out of two different hospitals and The Shepherd Spinal Center in Atlanta. I wondered if I would ever get used to being in a wheelchair and I cant say that I have yet. I still have hope that this condition will reverse itself and I will be able to walk again, but as each day passes my doubt grows.
