2002 - Further South, Then from Beach to Beach to Air

Things went great in our new place for about 5 and a half months. I was learning new things at work, travelling a little, and basically enjoying life. I dated a "couple" for a period of time in the first of the year. It was a fun experience, and if you have never done it, I would suggest trying it at least once. Its drama times two. M and E were two great guys, yet it just wasnt the right time in our lives for that to work..These two guys were the first to introduce me to to Wicca. M gave me "The Spiral Dance" and funny I am still trying to read it (May 2004).

In March I started considering a move to Ft Lauderdale. I had been travelling down there for a few weeks at the time and was really starting to like the area. I had been in Tampa for 3 years at this time and although having Jamie as a roomie was great, some things were brewing. She was dating a guy and was planning to move him in without even talking to me about it. It was around the end of March, Jamie and I went out to eat. We were talking and joking about her and his realtionship and I threw at her in my normal joking fashion, "So When's he moving in?"....I was shocked when her response was "Oh, In June..." I didn't know what to think as the look on her face said that she had already decided that this was gonna happen, and had I not brought it up, she wouldnt have mentioned it to me until like May 28th or something.

Early in May, a guy I knew in Ft Lauderdale offered to let me live with him until I got set up down there. I made plans to move around May 17th and gave my notice at AllSmell. I knew I would miss the people there (well most of them, except for the two faced, gay-hating, person named Br..da..)There is a story there, but she isnt worth typing that much. For the religious at heart I say, Ye who judge, according to the bible will answer for those judgements in all that you do. (also known as make sure your rug is clean underneath first.)

OKAY

Here is where it gets bumpy, so hang on...The week I was moving to Ft Lauderdale, I went and met a guy at the Don Cesar Resort in St Pete and we hit it off great. He was a wonderful guy, and played me like a fiddle. From the moment I looked in his eyes, I knew I wanted to be with him. I made a quick, (and probably hasty, but not regretted) decision and changed my moving direction to Williamsburg, VA (his place of residence.) I moved there on June 7th and things looked good. (Read that "LOOKED")

Looking back thru my journal entries I guess i should have seen it coming, but Love makes you blind. My 30th birthday came and went with a little flair. He bought me lots of things. He took me to the Outer Banks of North Carolina for the first time in my life. I still wonder if those two days that he was supposed to be with his parents that he was with someone else. I got my first full body massage in early August and might I recommend that anyone passing thru Hampton, VA look up Darryl.

Around Mid august, Scott found out that Berniece was looking to sell her mother's house in Newport News. Now Scott has always wanted to live on the river in Newport News and this was just the place. We started cleaning the yard up even before the papers were signed. It looked like things were gonna be good.

Well, I moved for nothing, and aroudn the first of September he made it clear that he wasnt happy with me. I had ignored the warning signs (visits to Personal Ad sites, paid subscriptions to personal ad sites, history entries on his computer.) but much to my chagrin when I later (just before we broke up) discovered that he had been fucking a supervisor at my job (Eric and Scott, You both should have know I wasnt as stupid as you thought.)

I moved in with a fabulous person from work named Susan. She is one of the most wonderful people you would ever meet. She was there to pick me up when my world came apart. I cried for a month as my heart came to pieces and she was there to hold me again and again. You cant ask for a better friend.

Just by chance I happened to answer the door one day, and got the luck to meet Susan's neighbor from across the street. W. worked for the company that I am currently employed and was asking if Sue wanted their cat. They had bought a house and were moving. (Boy, Timing)..I made a reference to the way she was dressed (In the Uniform I now know so well.) and she told me she was a Flight Attendant (Waitress in the sky as Sue says.) She gave me some info on how to contact the company and told me they were hiring. I put it on a piece of paper and laid it by the computer and probably would have forgotten about it, but for a really bad day at work (Read: LONG 12 hours)

I went to their website, and instead of an application they had a questionaire. I filled it and figured that I just wouldn't hear anything. The next day. (Oct 2) I received a call in reference to my Questionaire. They liked what I wrote and wanted to fly me up to DC for an inperson Q and A. They sent me a ticket and BOOM Tuesday morning I was in Dulles. I sat thru the orientation, and gave them 10 years of my life (try recreating that when you arent prepared.) and left thinking that they hated me.

Back at work the next day, I received a call from the airline again. They liked what they had seen in me and wanted to offer me a flight attendant position. I had to report on 10/18. I gave my 9 day notice at my current job and worked until the Tuesday before I had to be there, and then moved into the HoTel for 4 weeks.

I graduated with flying colors on November 18th and started my job as a Flight Attendant. It was such an accomplishment. To hear it told, a flight attendant position is the top of the Service Chain (in that its such a glamourous job and so hard to acquire)...Still looking for that Glamour.
