1999 faded into 2000 without alot of fanfare. I was beginning to become restless at Oxford. The Customer Service center had done some shuffling and I ended up with the manager from hell. His goal in life there it seemed was to flirt with and make dates with every pretty girl there.

On May 30, I made the jump to SBC Telecom. Being a start-up operation, it gave the change I needed and the opportunity to expand my wings, and show a new management team what I had to offer. We entered training on this day. This company had an interview process that ruled out everyone except for the "best of the best." Training lasted 11 weeks. My gamble paid off and on December 4, I was promoted to a Team Lead Position with SBC. Months of hard work had paid off with a position. It was in name only, as a raise was not in the budget yet. We were still having lots of problems getting service working for customers. It was one thing after another.
