Shannon and I clicked immediately and had some good times and got to be real close. We started going everywhere together. We started going to Crossroads, a small club south of Meridian, MS on the weekends and that's where she met Darlene. She and Darlene started a long distance relationship.

After several weeks of her and Darlene dating, the shit hit the fan when Shannon's roommate told her parents that Shannon as gay. It seems that Shannon kept a diary under her bed in which she wrote everything. Her roommate found it while Shannon and I were out of town one weekend and confronted her with it. Shannon trusted her, and told her everything. Her roommate then went to Shannon's parents and told them what she knew.. Her father called and told her that she was going to quit college and move back home to Memphis to "get help." Shannon of course, freaked out. I will remember always riding down Hwy 4, out of Booneville that night, listening to her cry and say 'What am I gonna do?"

After a lot of quick manuvering, Darlene, asked her to move in with her, and Shannon accepted, but was scared to move by herself. She told Darlene that she would come, only if I could come with her. So I quit school and my job and off we went to South Mississippi.
