The birth of a Cub - July 10, 1972

At approximately 2:30 on the afternoon of Monday, July 10, 1972 a cute little baby boy was brought into this world in Aberdeen, MS. He was birthed at the Medical Arts Clinic and Hospital on Chestnut Street. (Hospital is no longer there.)

This baby was named Michael G. Miller and was delivered to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gorden Miller of the Athens Community located 10 miles East of town. He was welcomed by his 7 and 1/2 year old sister Lynn and was the apple of his mother's eye.

The picture you see to your left was taken sometime in my first year. As far as I know this is the earliest picture that still exists of me.

OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS HAPPENING

There was a solar eclipse happening on this date but it was unable to be seen from the continental United States, only over remote parts of Alaska, Canada, and the North Atlantic. The Solar Corona was only visible over a 2.5 minute period over a 110 mile band of land in these areas.

Sports Illustrated featured Johnny Unitas on the cover.
